CHITTAGONG: A court here sentenced two men to death and fined Tk 5,000 each for killing a woman and her daughter last year.

The death convicts are—Abu Rayhan alias Arju, 23 and Shaheed, 27.

Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury, judge of Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal, passed the order on Thursday in presence of the accused.



Case statement reads, the duo chopped and cut the veins of Rezia Begum, 50, wife of a C&F agent and their daughter Naznin Nishat, 16 in Agrabad CDA residential area on March 24 in 2014.
