BHOLA: District court has sent 29 leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Jubo Dal to jail after denying their bail plea.

Bhola district senior judicial magistrate court judge Mashfiqul Haque made the decision as the JCD and Jubo Dal men surrendered to the court and pleaded for bail on Sunday afternoon.

The arrestees include district JCD president Khandakar Al-Amin and Jubo Dal senior vice-president Tariqul Islam Kayed.

Sources said three violence cases were filed against 36 following the clashes between police and BNP men on January 5 in the district.

Among the accused, seven were granted bail from the court while the rest of them were sent to jail.
