JESSORE: Police detained 30, including women and children, from Abhaynagar of the district on Tuesday morning while they were trying to enter India illegally.

Abhaynagar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Nasir Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said acting on tip-off, police conducted a drive and detained the persons from Noapara area of Abhaynagar.

According to him, most of the detainees are residents of Narail district.

‘The detainees used to go to India without passports and worked as day laborers,’ the OC added.

“They were trying to go there again after returning home,” he added.
