Hasina, Obama meeting at UNGA

DHAKA: Bangladesh foreign ministry expected that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the US President Barack Obama will hold a meeting during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York in September.

A parliamentary standing committee meeting, chaired by Dipu Moni MP, informed the matter on Tuesday.

According to the meeting sources, Sheikh Hasina and Barack Obama will hold a meeting on several bilateral issues.

Other issues like terrorism and human trafficking will also be discussed in the upcoming meeting.

Committee members foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali, Mohammad Faruk Khan, Golam Faruk Khandakar Prince and Kazi Nabil Ahmed, among others, were also present at the meeting, held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in city.
