CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court on Wednesday placed three lawyers, including daughter of BNP leader Syed Wahidul Alam, on four-day remand to each for their alleged financing to militant organization ‘Shahid Hamza Brigade’.

Banshkhali senior judicial magistrate passed the remand order.

The arrestees are Barrister Shakila Farzana, Advocate Hasanuzzaman Liton and Advocate Mahfuz Chowdhury Bapan.

Of them, Shakila Farzana and Hasanuzzaman Liton are Supreme Court lawyers.

Earlier on Tuesday night, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained the three from capital’s Dhanmondi area.

RAB Chittagong zone director lieutenant colonel Miftah Uddin Ahmed told banglanews that they have evidences about the trio’s involvement in providing financial assistance to ‘Shahid Hamza Brigade’.

Barrister Shakila Farzana is also joint general secretary of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Lawyers Forum.
