3 killed as 2 buses collide in Rajbari

RAJBARI: At least three people were killed and 34 injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Goalanda upazila of Rajbari district Sunday.

The accident took place in front of Daulatdia Model High School around 11:45am.

The deceased were identified as Abu Shama, 45, driver of the Jhenaidah-bound bus, Jakir Hossian, 35, driver of bus another bus and also son of Samad Sheikh of Rajbari, and passenger Rahim, 46.
 
Goalanda Ghat thana officer-in-charge (OC) AKM Nasirullah confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Locals said a Jhenaidah-bound bus coming from Dhaka collided head-on with a bus of Kushtia-Daulatdia route in Goalanda upazila on Dhaka-Khulna highway, leaving three people, including drivers of two buses, dead on the spot and 34 others injured.  

Of the injured, 12 were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Of the rests injured, nine was given first aid and 13 were undergoing treatment at Goalanda upazila health complex, said hospital’s RMO Kazi Shafiul Azam.
