CHITTAGONG: At least one person was killed in a crash between a passenger train and a covered van at Barabkunda area in Sitakunda Upazila of the district early Tuesday.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Confirming the matter, Chittagong railway station manager Abul Kalam Azad told banglanews that following the accident around 5:30am, four compartments of the train were derailed snapping the rail link with Dhaka.

“We are trying to restore the communication,” he added.
