CHITTAGONG: Train communication from Chittagong with rest parts of the country has been restored on Tuesday after 6-hours of halt.
Earlier this morning, a passenger train hit a covered van at Barabkunda area in Sitakunda Upazila of the district leaving one dead.
However, intercity Subarna Express and Mahanagar Prabhati left Chittagong station for Dhaka around 11:00am.
Chittagong railway station manager Abul Kalam Azad told banglanews that the rescuers restored the communication by clearing the obstacles from the track.
Moreover, Bangladesh Railway (east zone) authorities constituted a three-member investigation committee over the train accident.
Additional transport officer of Railway (east zone) Rokonuzzaman told banglanews that Divisional Engineer Abidur Rahman will lead the committee.
