JHENIDAH: Six people were killed, including a baby, while 30 injured as a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Moheshpur Upazila Sunday.

Moheshpur thana officer-in-charge Mamunur Rashid said that the bus driver lost his control trying to overtake a van on the Kaliganj-Jibannagar road.

“The bus skidded off the road into a roadside ditch in Purondarpur area at around 11am,” he said.

There were two women and a baby among the deceased, the OC said.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The injured were sent to Moheshpur upazila health complex.
