DHAKA: Iran ambassador to Bangladesh Abbas Vaezi on Tuesday commented that his country was always against terrorism and extremism.

He was addressing a program, ‘Meet the Talk’, organized by Diplomatic Correspondents Association Bangladesh (DCAB), at National Press Club in city around 12:00pm.

DCAB president Masud Karim presided over the program.

Abbas Vaezi said Iran had been a victim of terrorism for several times.

“We have cleared our position against terrorism by signing nuclear treaty with the USA, the UK, Russia, China, France and Germany,” he added.

He also expected the treaty will come into effect within a few months.

The Iran ambassador further said they won’t leave anyone whether Taliban or newly formed Islamic State (IS).

Terming the implementation of the treaty very important for his country, Vaezi said in these days no country can move forward alone.

“Hopefully, the deal will end the long-standing embargo by the United Nations (UN) on us,” he added.

The envoy also said Iran was keen to strengthen trade ties with brotherly country Bangladesh.
