DHAKA: The 7th session of the 10th parliament has begun on Wednesday afternoon.

With Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, the session began at 5:10pm.

A total of 12 public bills including six new bills have been submitted for the seventh session.

Earlier, President Abdul Hamid summoned the session of Jatiya Sangsad exercising the power bestowed upon him as per Article 72(1) of the Constitution.

The sixth session of Jatiya Sangsad ended on July 8 passing the national budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year.
 
The 10th parliament went into its maiden session on January 29, 2014.
