SATKHIRA: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized a truck carrying 1,500-kg hilsa fish to be smuggled to India through border in Satkhira district on Thursday morning.
Confirming the matter to banglanews BGB 38-Battalion deputy commander Major Mozammel Haque said that on tip-off they conducted a drive in Alipur area on the frontier.
Sensing the presence of BGB members, driver of the truck fled the place, he said adding more, then BGB searched the vehicle and seized 1,500-kg of hilsa fish.
According to Haque, the fishes were brought to smuggle to India.
