Govt to kick off campaign against corruption, for quality education

DHAKA: The government has finalised a plan of action aimed at ensuring quality education at all levels, raising public awareness against corruption and delivering various civic services to the grassroots for a balanced uplift of society.

Finalised by the Ministry of Establishment, the action plan has been sent to the deputy commissioners of all districts across the country, official sources said.

The DC from the respective district will have to report back to the Ministry on their monthly updates on the action taken.

The Prime Minister herself will sit with the DCs in November this year for stocktaking.

When contacted, the DC of Cox’s Bazar, M Gias Uddin Ahmed, said the letter outlined a campaign to ensure quality education at all levels, raise public awareness against corruption and reach various services to the grassroots people.

“The government aims to check dropout in schools by 2012, and the letter asked for innovative activities to that end,” he said.

Thakurgaon DC Muhammad Shahiduzzaman said they would soon form committee at the grassroots level with people from different professions to make the campaigns a success.
