DHAKA: National team cricketer Shahdat Hossain Rajib and his wife Nitya Shahdat were sued for allegedly torturing their 11-year-old maid on Sunday night.

The maid was found injured in Kalshi Journalist residential area around 8:00pm. On information, police rescued the girl.

The minor girl claimed that she had been tortured by Shahdat and his wife, said Pallabi Thana SI Anwar.

Later, Khandaker Mozammel Huq, a local journalist, filed a case with Mirpur Model Thana under Prevention of Oppression Against Women and Children Act accusing Shahdat and his wife.

Then, she was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Shahadat filed a general diary (GD) with Mirpur Thana that their 11-year-old maid Mahfuza Akter Happy had gone missing.

Hospital sources said the girl's body bore several injury marks on her both eyes, legs and other parts.
