COMILLA: The local administration has imposed section 144 in Daudkandi upazila to avert a possible clash between the rival groups of Jubo Dal and Jubo Sanghati, the front organization of Jatiya Party, as they arranged Iftar Mahfil at the same place and same time.

Daudkandi Thana OC SM Kawsar Uddin Chowdhury said both Jubo Dal and Jubo Sanghati arranged ifter mahfils at Raipur KC High School ground on Monday.  

“Under the circumstances, the upazila administration clamped down the ban in and around the school from 12 midnight on Sunday to 5am on Tuesday to disengage the political rivals,” he said.
 
Additional police have been deployed in the area early Monday.
