Case filed over killing of Japanese man

RANGPUR: A case has been filed against three unnamed assailants over the killing of Japanese citizen in Kawnia upazila of the district.

Kownia Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier, unidentified assailants shot Kunio Hoshi, a Japanese citizen, to death in Nasiniar beel of Kawnia upazila around 10:45am Saturday.

Later, police detained four people for interrogation over the murder of Japan citizen in Rangpur.

The detainees were identified as owner of a house Zakaria Bala, business partner Hira, owner of the adjacent house Murad and the rickshaw-puller Monnaf, who carried the body of the slain Japanese.

Islamic State (IS) reportedly claimed responsibility for the second killing of foreign national in Bangladesh.
