Natore: Chasing three suspected car-riding robbers, police nabbed them on the Bonpara-Hatikumrul road connecting the Jamuna bridge highway early Saturday, official sources said.

On suspicion, a team of patrol police asked the driver of the private car to halt near the toll plaza on the road at around 2:30 am. “But the driver drove on at a higher speed to escape,” said SI Abdul Hannan of Natore DB police.

The patrols chased and headed off the car and arrested the three on board. The arrested persons are Bazlu and Shuvo of Singra upazila in the district and driver Mamun of Pabna.

They also seized a shotgun and three bullets from the possession of the highwaymen, said the detective cop.

“The arrested persons are members of an inter-district gang of robbers,” police said.
