DHAKA: The country will observe Eve teasing Prevention Day on Sunday with a fresh vow to prevent the menace that took lives of 16 girls.

In observance of the day, the Education Ministry will bring out a procession from Muktangan that will march up to Central Shahid Minar at 8 am.

A rally will be held with a call to wage social movement against eve teasing across the country, a handout said from the Ministry.

Participants will take oath led by Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at the Central Shahid Minar where students of different schools, colleges and universities, their guardians, social activists and human right workers will join.

Besides, district and upazila administrations will also arrange similar programmes in respective areas across the country.

The government has taken ‘zero’ tolerance policy against the tide of eve teasing. It will enact new law, if necessary, to fight the heinous crime, the Education Minister earlier said.
