DHAKA: At least seven agenda will be put on the table when a top-level meeting between Bangladesh Rifles and Indian Border Security Force begins here on September 22.

A competent source in the ministry of home affairs told banglanews that at least seven issues would be tabled in the meeting.

Major-General Rafiqul Islam, Director-General of BDR, will head the host team while his counterpart Raman Srivastav will lead a 21-member delegation of India.

The agenda include stopping the killing of Bangladeshis on the border by BSF, joint patrol on the frontier, combined border management, push-in and pushback, smuggling, land grabbing by Khasias in the border areas and establishments within 150 yards of no man’s land.

The weeklong meeting will continue till September 27.

After the BDR carnage in Pilkhana headquarters of the border force, this is going to be the fourth meeting between the border security forces of the two neighbouring countries.

The source said the Indian team would visit the border areas in Chittagong and Rangamati.

The BSF chief will also meet with the minister and the secretary of the ministry of home affairs.
