Girl student injured in accident: Dhaka-Sylhet highway blocked for 2 hours

BRAHMANBARIA: Students barricaded Dhaka-Sylhet Highway for two hours as a female student was injured in an accident in the morning in Islampur area in the district.

Brahmanbaria Sadar circle assistant police super Sanjoy Sarker told banglanews that a Dhaka-bound bus of Hanif paribahan hit Sita Rani, a student of Kazi Shafiqul Islam Degree College, leaving her injured critically at around 8:45 am while she was crossing the road.

In an instant protest, the students of the college blocked the highway from 9 to 11 am and demanded making a speed-breaker on the highway immediately.

The students removed the roadblocks after Abdul Mannan, deputy commissioner of Brahmanbaria, came to the scene and gave assurance of setting up a speed-breaker.
