NARAIL: More than 50 people were injured in a clash between two groups over establishing supremacy in Dattapara village under Sadar Upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

Local source said that there was a longstanding dispute between the supporters of Salam Sheikh and ex-police man Altaf Hossain of the village.

Following the dispute, their supporters locked into clash with lethal weapons at around 11:00am, leaving over 50 people injured.

Meanwhile, the injured were admitted to Narail Sadar Hospital, where the relatives of injured people locked into clash again.

Later, police rushed in and held 13 people from the spot.

Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
