DHAKA: Parents of Shafiqul Alam, Dhaka bureau chief of Agence France-Presse (AFP), passed away died on Tuesday.

They were-- M Amirul Haque, 81, father of Shafiqul and mother Syeda Rashida Khatun, 71.

The father of Shafiqul, also a member of Bangladesh Association of sports writing, died from heart deceases at around 8:00am and mother died of kidney deceases at around 1:00am Thursday.

After the Namaz-e-Janaza, they will be buried at Chaugachi village under Sripur upazila of the district.
