18kg gold seized at Shahjalal: 1 held

DHAKA: Airport customs police recovered 18 kilogram gold bars from a passenger bus of United Airways at Shahjalal International Airport on Friday morning.

Airport Customs Assistant Commissioner Ayesha Akter told banglanews, “A United Airways fight from Muscat of Oman landed at the airport at around 9:07am. Later, the passengers of the flight arrived at terminal by a bus.”

Acting on tip off, a team of customs detective police raided the bus at around 9:15 am and seized 155 gold bars weighing 18 kg near the seat of driver.

The gold bars, each weighing about 10 grams, were found wrapped in special technique.

Besides, police held the bus driver Kabir Falan, 32, from the spot. He is being interrogated.
