PABNA: An extremist was killed in mob beating in Hadal Madrasa area in Faridpur Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Aziz, 35, son of Abdus Samad from Hadal village of the upazila.

Police and locals said he was involved in extremist organisation for long.

Locals said Abdul Aziz attempted to conduct criminal activities near Hadal Madrassa at around 11:00am. But people foiled the attempt and caught Aziz.

Later, the angry mob gave Aziz a good beating, leaving him injured critically.
 
He was rushed to Pabna Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Faridpur police station officer-in-charge SM Faruq Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
