BENAPOLE, JESSORE: Transport workers blocked Jessore-Benapole road demanding to stop hijacking in Benapole bus stand, railway station and road transport station of the district.

The blockade began from 08:00am in the morning.

Meanwhile, all types of export-import oriented vehicles stuck which created five kilometers long traffic tailback.

Benapole transport owners’ association president Hafijzur Rahman told banglanews, “Hijackers openly looted the valuables from passengers, while they got down from bus or rail stations.”

Following the matter, Benapole port Thana police was informed several times, but they didn’t pay heed to the fact, he added.

Benapole Port Thana Sub-inspector Abdul Aziz told banglanews, “We are trying to solve the problem through discssion.”
