DHAKA: A police official was killed in a road accident in Dhour intersection area of Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital, on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman, 49, a Constable of Turag Thana, hailed from Ashulia.

Officer-in-Charge of Turag police station Sheikh Farid told banglanews, “A rashly driven sand-laden truck knocked Constable Mizanur on his way to Uttara Office, leaving him critically injured.”

Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor declared him dead, he added.

Currently his body is kept in the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
