KUSHTIA: Two persons were killed in a road accident on Kushtia-Ishwardi highway of Shimultola area under Mirpur upazila of the district early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as bus driver Rana, son of Joynul Abedin, hailed from Milpara area of Kushtia suburb and helper Khokon, son of Nana Biswas, hailed from Kumargara area of Sadar Upazila.

Police sources said that a Jhenaidah-bound truck knocked Rana and Khokon from behind while they were repairing their truck in front of Mir Abdul Karim College of Shimultala area, leaving them dead on the spot.

Police have sent their bodies to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.
