DHAKA: Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Wednesday criticized opposition BNP as the party opposed the cabinet’s decision to bar Jamaat-e-Islami from polls.
The adviser to premier made the observation through his facebook post on Wednesday afternoon.
He said, “One small item of news has bothered me. The BNP has opposed the Cabinet’s decision to bar collaborators from voting. This is unbelievable! How can those who opposed the very existence of Bangladesh be allowed to vote?”
It is shameful that our opposition party wants them to be allowed to vote. Once again the BNP is taking the side of collaborators against Bangladesh, he added on the facebook post.
Joy also said, “This is unpatriotic and anti-Bangladesh. Please join me in saying “No” to all collaborators and shame on the BNP for supporting them.”
