Banglalink official shot dead

DHAKA: An official of Banglalink, one of the mobile-phone operators of Bangladesh, was shot dead by muggers at Tongi in Gazipur city on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Ahmed Mostafa, 24, an officer of Banglalink.

Witnesses said muggers opened fire aiming head of Mostafa in front of Viyela Tex factory in Gazipura area around 2:00pm, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he was rushed to Tongi government hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

Banglalink local booth said that the victim was carrying Tk 240,000.

Officer-in-Charge of Tongi Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter of incident to banglanews.
