NOAKHALI: A fisherman died and two other went missing as a trawler capsized in south Bay of Bengal near Nijhum Dwip (Island) in Hatia upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Ashraf Mistri, 36.

Owner of the Trawler Dhinaj Majhi told banglanews, “While returning from fishing, the trawler capsized with three fishermen as storm swept over in the Domarchar area of South Bay of Bengal.”

Later, they became ensured of trawler capsize as they found floating the body of Ashraf Mistri.

Officer-in-Charge of Hatia Thana Khorshed Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
