Killer of 27 fishermen arrested

CHITTAGONG: Law enforcers arrested robber Yasin who allegedly shot dead 27 fishermen at Kutubdia point of Bay of Bengal.

Police also arrested his cohort and recovered two firearms and bullets from them.

The detainees were identified as Yasin, 30, son of Abdul Jabbar, hailed from Boroghona area of Banshkhali upazila and his cohort Selim, 25.

Officer-in-Charge of Karnaphuli Thana Mohiuddin Mahmud told banglanews that while interrogation; Yasin admitted his guilt of his involvement with murder of 27 fishermen.

On March 25, a gang of robbers killed 27 fishermen attacking fishing trawlers on the Bay of Bengal.

A case was then filed in this connection against Yasin.
