KURIGRAM: Two children drowned in a pond at Durgapur union in Olipur upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Masikur, 7, son of Rafiqul and Mojnu, 7, son of Lal Mia of the area.

Sources said Masikur and Mojnu went to in a pond of Dalimerpar village for taking bath. At one stage, they drowned.

They were rushed to Kurigram Sadar Hospital where on duty doctor declared them dead.
