BENAPOLE, JESSORE: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 11 Bangladeshis, including women while they were trying to cross Putkhali frontier of Benapole illegally to enter India on Wednesday evening.

The identity of the detainees could not be known immediately.

Sources said that all the detainees hailed from Madaripur and Bagerhat districts.

Meanwhile, BGB personnel seized various types of goods which cost Tk 34 lakh.

Confirming the matter, Commanding Officer of BGB-23 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Taef-ul-Haque told banglanews: “The detained were handed over Benapole Port Thana along with seized goods.”
