MOULVIBAZAR: Five people of a family were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Kajirbazar area under Sadar Upazila on Sunday noon.

The deceased were identified as Soleman Mia, 62, his son Hadis Mia, 35, his grandpa Chhabar Ali, 70, maternal uncle Jahaj Mia, 45, and Ratik Mia, 40.

Witnesses said that a Moulvibazar-bound passenger bus collided head on with a Sylhet-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area at around 1:00pm, leaving four people dead on the spot and others injured.

The injured were rushed to hospital where on duty doctor declared one of them dead.

Moulvibazar Police Super Tofael Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
