KAMALNAGAR, LAXMIPUR: Two minors cousin drowned in a pond at Ramgati Upazila of the district on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Shahnaj Akter Lipi, 10, daughter of Mahbubur Rahman and Jubaida Sultana Mim, 7, daughter of Momin Ullah of Charhasan area under the upazila. They were cousin.

Sources said that Lipi and Mim went to take bath in a pond near their house around 2:00pm. At one stage, Mim drowned in the water. Lipi also drowned when she tried to save Mim.

Family members recovered the bodies.
