DINAJPUR: A college teacher was killed in a road accident on Fulbari-Dhaka highway under Ghoraghat upazila of the district on Sunday noon.

The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam, 42, Lecturer of Islamic History of Ghoraghat Upazila Degree College, hailed from Fulbari upazila.

Police source said Shahidul was returning home from college at around 12:00 noon, holding an extension of a passenger bus as it was overcrowded.

At one stage, a rashly human hauler knocked him suddenly down forcefully, leaving him dead on the spot, said a spot account of the accident.

A case was filed in this connection with the local thana.

Officer-in-Charge of Ghoraghat Thana Farhad Imrul Kayes confirmed the matter to banglanews.
