DHAKA: A Rickshaw-van puller was killed and two truck labourers were injured in a road accident in capital’s Banglamotor area early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Farid, 15, hailed from Netrakona. He used to live in a rented house of Panthapath area.

Sub-Inspector of Shahbagh police station Humayun Kabir told banglanews that while going to Shyambazar, a rashly driven arum root-laden truck overturned on the road in the Banglamotor area and knocked van puller Farid, leaving him dead on the spot and two truck labourers injured.

The truck has been seized but the driver and helper fled the scene, he added.

Body of Farid was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
