3 die in Comilla road accident

CHANDINA, COMILLA: Three fish traders were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway of Sabdalpur area in Chandina upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Faruk Hossain, 26, Ibrahim, 20 and Sharif Ahmed 25, all of them hailed from Shalika village of Suhilpur union parishad under the upazila.

Assistant Sub Inspector of Illiotganj Highway Police Outpost Harun told banglanews, “On their way to home from Chandina bazaar, a Dhaka-bound covered van rammed an auto-rickshaw carrying the ill-fated fish traders at around 8:30am, leaving two dead on the spot and three injured.

Later, on the way to Comilla Medical College Hospital, critically injured Sharif succumbed to his injuries, he also said.

Bodies have been taken to the Thana, he added.
