CHUADANGA: Two school teachers were killed in a road accident on Chuadanga-Darshana road in the district on Tuesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Mahfuz Hossain, 40, assistant teacher of Gokulkhali Secondary School and Solaiman Haque Raju, 45, assistant teacher of Ramnagar Kolabari Govt Primary School under Alamdanga upazila.

Witnesses said that Mahfuz and Solaiman were going to Darshana from Kushtia riding a motorcycle. When they reached in Joyrampur area around 6:15pm, a passenger bus coming from opposite direction knocked them down, leaving Mahfuz dead on the spot and Solaiman injured.

Injured Solaiman succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.

Damurhuda Thana Officer-in-Charge Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter to banglanews.
