DHAKA: A four-day director general (DG) level conference between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India will come to an end on Wednesday afternoon.
BSF Director General Sri Suvas Joshi and BGB Director General Major General Aziz Ahmed will hold a press briefing at BGB headquarters in the city after signing ‘Joint Record of Discussion’ (JRD).
The conference initiated at around 10.30am Sunday at BGB Headquarters at Pilkhana in the capital.
Sources said that the conference discussed much-talked-about border killings and abductions of Bangladeshi people along the border area by BSF.
The conference also highlighted the important issues as cut narcotic smuggling, way out to dart illegal trespassing and stopping unauthorized establishments within 150 yards of international borders.
A number of high officials and delegations team from both the countries are attending the conference.
BGB team include the Additional Director General of BGB, all the Regional Commanders and high ups of foreign ministry, Survey Bangladesh, India-Bangladesh Joint River Commission members.
On the other hand, BSF Director General Sri Suvas Joshi is leading the 20-member BSF team.
