NETROKONA: A district court awarded life imprisonment and finned Tk20, 000 to 4 people for their involvement in killing a man in the district.

The convicts are Abdul Mazid Mia, Lal Chowdhury, Dudu Mia and Abdur Rab in Ramjibanpur village under Atpara Upazila of the district.

Additional District and Session Judge Court Judge Abdul Hamid passed the order on Wednesday at around 11:30am.

On November 30, 2011 Abdul Mazid along with his cohorts killed his son-in-law over past feud.

Following the incident, victim’s sister Kulsum filed a murder case and after investigation on May 31, 2012 police submitted charge sheet.  

The verdict was announced in presence of the accused father-in-law Abdul Mazid before the court and three others are fugitives.
