FENI: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mohipal area of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Manik Mia, 45, and Abdus Sattar, 55, hailed from Chhatarpara of Senbag upazila of Noakhali district.

Police source said that Manik and Sattar were going to Chittagong from Noakhali riding a motorbike. On way, a covered van knocked them down in the area around 4:00pm, leaving Manik dead on the spot and injuring Sattar critically.

Sattar succumbed to his injuries at Feni Sadar Hospital.

Police seized the covered van but the driver fled the scene.

The bodies were sent to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Feni Sadar Thana Sub-Inspector Nurul Karim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
