No plan to deploy drone

DHAKA: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Sri Subhash Joshi categorically said they would not deploy drone along the Bangladeshi border.

He came up with the disclosure in a joint conference at the BGB headquarters of Pilkhana in the city, after a Director General level meeting on Wednesday.

Sri Subhash Joshi said BSF has not any plan to deploy drone along the Bangladeshi border.

“We already have protested the news of the news agency who first published the matter,” he also said.

Terming the border killing unacceptable, he expressed his hope to bring the number of death along border down to nought.

Sri Subhash Joshi also informed the journalists that they have completed investigating the killings in the last few years. They also have completed the trial of some of them. Three Jawans were awarded with highest punishment and a few were discharged from the duty.

Terming the killing of Felani as a brutal incident, Joshi further said that the Jawan involved with the killing was put to trial which has not yet completed; the revision trial is going to be started soon.

The BSF director general also said that linguistic differences also cause these incidents.

He also urged the people of the border area to be more conscious about the trespassers, drugs smugglers and human traffickers.

With other high ups of both the countries, BGB Director General Major General Abdul Aziz led the Bangladesh delegation while BSF Director General Sri Subhash Joshi led India.
