City bus-train collision injures 2

DHAKA: At least two people were injured critically as a train knocked a stuck passenger bus at Mohakhali rail crossing in the capital on Sunday night.

The injured were sent to Ayesha Memorial Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Witnesses said that a Mirpur-bound bus of Bengal Paribahan stuck on the rail crossing at around 10:45pm while a Kamalapur-bound train Parabat express knocked it, leaving bus driver and a passenger critically injured.

On information three fire service units and four wreckers rushed to the spot and recovered the bus at around 02:15am.

Later, the train services became normal couple of hours later.

Dhaka Railway Divisional Paribahan Officer Nazmul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Gulshan Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Nurul Alam told banglanews, “Two people were injured in the accident.”
