PANCHAGARH: Two people were killed and 20 more injured in electric transformer blast in Muhurijot village under Tetulia Upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Shohida Begum, 35 and Yakub Ali, 50.

Sources said that the 11000 kilowatt electric transformer caught fire at around 08:00pm and spread out everywhere in the village, leaving two people electrocuted and 20 others injured.

Meanwhile, among the injured six were sent to Tetulia Hospital.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Moniruzzaman and Tetulia Thana Officer-in-Charge Monoj Kumar Roy confirmed the matter to banglanews.
