DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) held a woman while she was demanding extortion introducing her as an official of the anti-graft body.

An ACC team led by Senior Deputy Director Joynul Abedin Shibli and Abdulla Al Jahid detained the woman from ACC office on Monday afternoon.

ACC Director M Towhidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

ACC sources said fraud Papia demanded Tk 3 Lakh from a businessman of capital’s Uttara. The businessman has agreed to pay the cash but he cleverly said he would give the money at ACC office.

In the afternoon, the businessman came to ACC office to give the money to her, an ACC team held the fraud.

A deceptive case was filed in this connection and Papia was handed over to Ramna Thana police.
