CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Two persons including a woman were killed in two separate incidents of lighting in Monnatola and Kharial village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Friday noon.

The deceased are Kalu, son of late Estad Ali of Monnatola and Hamida Begum, 55, wife of Isarul Islam of Kharial village.

Sources said that lighting struck Kalu around 2:00pm at his house in front of cow-shed when he tried to save the cow.
 
On the other hand, Hamida was killed as lightning struck her around 3:00pm while she was working behind her house.
