GAZIPUR: Agitated RMG workers staged protest by blocking Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in MC Bazar area under Sreepur upazila of the district on Saturday in protest against workers’ job cut by factory authority.

Meanwhile, another factory authority declared the factory lay off to avoid anarchy.

The authority of Hasin Sweater laid-off some workers at around 10:00 am.

Following the incident, hundreds of workers of the factory brought out a procession and blocked Dhaka-Mymensingh highway protesting the job cut of the workers that halted vehicles movement.

The agitated workers of Hasin Sweater vandalized Co stocks Garment as the workers didn’t join them.

On the other hand, at least 20 readymade garment workers were injured in a clash with police on Dhaka-Tangail highway at around 9:30am.
