CHITTAGONG: Two staffs of Bangladesh railway were killed as a mail train knocked them down in Kamaldah area under Mirsharai upazila of the district early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as M Harunur Rashid 55, and M Raja Mia 56.
Police sources said a Dhaka-bound mail train pushed them down at around 12:30 am while they were repairing a derailed train in the area, leaving them dead on the spot.
The train was crossing the area on another track.
The bodies were sent to hospital for autopsy.
Earlier, a Sylhet-bound Jalabad Express train derailed at Chotta Kamoldah in Mirsharai at around 8:00pm.
Railway Police Station Duty Officer Sub Inspector Nurul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
