Tight security measures in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Law enforcement agency has taken tight security measures in the district apprehending violence ahead of verdict of BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.    
 
As part of the security measures, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel will be deployed in five upazilas.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Mannan said BGB personnel along with the different law enforcement agencies would be de ployed in Fatikchhari, Hathazari, Rawjan, Rangunia and Sitakunda upazila from Tuesday down.

District additional police super Farid Uddin said, “Law enforcers are ready to prevent any untoward situation after the verdict.”

International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 is scheduled to pass the verdict in war crimes related case against BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury on this day.

On August 14, the tribunal led-by Justice ATM Fazle Kabir concluded the proceedings of the case fixing no date and time for the verdict.
